Bob Schmitter has over 25 years of experience in successfully handling a wide variety of corporate, business, and environmental management issues. His career has spanned consulting, academia, and a solo law practice, working closely with architects, engineers, and environmental consultants in all aspects of project planning and management. He has provided technical assistance and compliance counseling to individuals, government agencies, municipalities, and corporations of all sizes. During his career as a Senior Scientist for the Georgia Tech Research Institute he served as Head of the Environmental Management Branch and Director of the Center for Sustainable Urban Revitalization, a program combining civil and economic infrastructure, land use, and the natural and built environments with property development. He founded the Firm in 2003, with a primary focus on business law, environmental issues, and general legal issues. His work has included creating corporations and nonprofits; contract drafting, negotiation, and review; development of business documents including franchise disclosure documents and accompanying franchise creation; the representation of a homeowner’s association in the transfer of control of operations from the developer; representation of clients in actions to recover damages from environmental exposures; and legal consultation services to an international law firm representing a national bank defending asbestos exposure claims. Mr. Schmitter is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia Business Law and Environmental Law Sections, the Cobb County Bar Association, and was formerly the Chair of the Environmental Law and Toxic Torts Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. He has published over 50 articles for peer-reviewed and trade journals, and has spoken in over 300 seminars around the country on the topics of brownfield redevelopment, asbestos, lead-based paint, and USTs among others.
Bob is admitted to practice in all Georgia state courts and the Georgia Supreme Court
